One of the places we've been house-hunting is Vermeer's Delft. I adore this charming city and fell in love with a 1920s house, simply because of its original stained-glass windows and doors. But it's a bit small, so the search continues.
Strolling along this canal, we came across a swan paddle boat. Click photos to enlarge.
And this building boasts its original hand-painted sign, stained glass windows and a trompe l'oeil mural on one window.
The search continues!

Enjoy the search! I just know you will find the perfect place. I wish I could go on the search with you, as the house would be so different to see from what we have here. Love the photos of Delft.

I have great memories of Delft which is a student city of the TU. Love the swan and I love on the second photo van gogh's painting of the aardappeleters or in english the potato eaters on the window

I have no doubt you will find "the one" and it will be every bit as romantic and steeped in history as you dreamed.

Did you get a chance to use the swan paddleboat?!! Now that would be the photo of a lifetime.

I don't envy your search, Tara. I do, however, enjoy looking at the photos of the places your search takes you.

Happy Hunting, Tara! A place with swan boats must be rather enchanting. What's up with the corner of that building? Did someone break it off and put in a doorway, maybe? Just interesting.
