At Printemps, Paris current vitrines are devoted to "Visions Couture," a collaboration between Nick Knight and socialite and fashion icon Daphne Guinness.
In Paris, the Irish-born Miss Guinness has been the subject of speculation and gossip as the very public mistress of French philosopher Bernard-Henri Levy (better known locally as BHL). Levy remains married to the much-admired French singer and actress Arielle Dombasle; consequently popular opinion has not weighed in Miss Guinness's favour. It seems rather provocative of Printemps to devote a series of windows to Miss Guinness's art project.
The displays feature fashion, sculptural ghost-like three-dimensional figures and ever-evolving screened images that interact with passers-by.
Some screens display collage-like images depicting Miss Guinness's background, as well as aspects of fashion and politics. Click photos to view detail.
Images of Daphne Guinness appear throughout the exhibit.
A silhouette of Daphne Guinness.

Daphne Guinness work is rather dark and prison ~like. I guess an outward expression of an inward state of mind.
Hi Tara,.
Thanks for exposing and posting what is valuable to ponder in our times and culture.

Miss Guiness and her windows are wonderful. But YOU, YOU are more so for sharing with us.
I hope you feel well, happy, and are settling in to your canal side home. My thoughts are with you as always. Let's chat soon, we have to plan my visit. Xo

I think she is a niece or grand daughter of Diana, Dowager Duchess of Devonshire. I recently read Wait for Me by the the Duchess (formerly Diana Mitford). Very interesting to read. The Mitfords all seem to have been beautiful and excellent writers.

I've not heard of Daphne Guinness over here (but then style isn't always my best feature!). (That said, I've been reading a bio of Evelyn Waugh where Diana Mitford Guiness Mosley makes a number of appearances!) This is fascinating, though. The reflections, as Helen indicated, add another element of drama to the photos!

Irish born Daphne Guinness, I assume she is an heiress to the Guinness brewery.

Interesting and I also have not heard of her. Oh what webs some people weave.

Provocative...to say the least. Your photography adds another layer of mystery to it with reflective images!

Daphne Guinness is unfamiliar to me. Now I need to check her out.
Amazing photos. I love to capture reflections though windows. I did a self portrait series in my blog the other day.
