"...I give you the mausoleum of all hope and desire...I give it to you not that you may remember time, but that you might forget it now and then for a moment and not spend all of your breath trying to conquer it. Because no battle is ever won...The field only reveals to man his own folly and despair and victory is an illusion of philosophers and fools." - William Faulkner, The Sound and the Fury

My darling friend, Julian just returned from Miami and told me the news. Please call me tomorrow I would love to touch base even for five mins.
If you call me at work and leave me your number I can call you right back.
So much love to you both xxoo

What an amazing photo. Isn't it miraculous that something so old can still be so remarkably preserved?
Thinking of you.

Oh what a beautiful sample from one of my 'Quartet of Williams': William Shakespeare, William Butler Yeats, William Faulkner, and W. S. (William Stanley) Merwin. They never fail to move me.

I have not heard this quote, but I like what it says. Oh to forget time for a moment.
