Pink blossoms falling from the trees carpet the sidewalk along Boulevard Anatole France (named after the French writer). Note the row of tall lantern-like steet lights, erected in the 19th-century.
The wrought iron fence fronts our apartment complex on the Western edge of Paris. It was built in the 1970s on land that was once part of the Edmond de Rothschild family estate.
The crumbling remains of the Rothschild family chateau are still visible behind Hopital Ambroise Pare, a large teaching hospital located behind the apartment building.
The former "front yard" of the Rothschild private estate has been turned into a public park.
The trees to the extreme right of the photo are part of the Bois du Boulogne, the Paris equivalent to New York's Central Park.
Hippodrome de Longchamp is located directly across the street. We are fortunate to enjoy such beauty - and the opportunity to walk, ride bicycles or watch first-class horse-racing - just by walking across the street!
Fans of the film Seabiscuit will remember the American jockey Gary Stevens riding Seabiscuit to victory. Stevens is one of many talented jockeys who have guided champion racehorses to win at Longchamp, along with the Italian Frankie Dettori, Irish rider Kieran Fallon and French jockey Christophe Soumillon. Each September, Longchamp hosts the Prix d'Arc de Triomphe, similar to the Kentucky Derby in America or Ascot in England.
This phosgraph is very srtiking. The lines in it are very clear. The perspective.
It's really great.

Oh my God what a beautiful, idyllic street you live on! You've inspired me to take a photo of our street. It is so different from yours, but striking in its own right.
