Lavender blue flowers for the weekend, inspired by the ever-creative Suzanne Cummings...
...plus three new pots of orchids.
One of the neighbourhood storks spent over an hour perched on this chimney (if only I had a better telephoto lens!)
A bird and hot air balloon fly overhead (click photo to view detail).
At sunset, a bird flies over an historic church...
...and the sky, clouds and trees are reflected in a canal.
Beautiful pictures ... loved them

Lavender blue...one of my favorite things, and songs, for that matter. Burl Ives version, of course. Lovely, lovely. My weekend is to be spent visiting my sister and her twin babies, just a few weeks old, and to pray the little boy will get to come home from the hospital soon to be with his mom and dad and sister. Bittersweet to be sure, but hopeful.

Enjoy the bike ride. I am sure you will also then be taking pictures. I love seeing the pictures where you live and where you travel. I almost named my tea business Lavender Blue, so love the nursery rhyme. Enjoyed visiting Susan's website and blog too. thanks!

Your surroundings are beautiful. I am discovering an unknown fascination with storks, fueled in part by your photos. Who knew??!

Beautiful, beautiful photos Tara! The color is mouthwatering. As for my weekend, I think I'll do something to celebrate my 30th wedding anniversary and maybe go shopping for some pretty yarn. Talk about a spectrum of activity! Bon weekend;0
