Oh, Tara, these are simply breathtaking. I just returned from a visit to a butterfly house -- and how perfectly analagous these flowers are to the gossamer wings.
Thanksgiving is next week and I look forward to giving thanks for a wonderful friendship and for your kind and gracious hospitality during our visit. You made our time so lovely and for that we will both be so grateful! Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!

Immediately when I saw your photos I thought of butterflies. How appropriate that you should include the quote about "The butterfly is a flying flower.." That fits so perfectly. Now I must go exploring your links.
I have just begun reading The Practice of Contemplative Photography and finding the thoughts intriguing.
