The architecture, the car, the history: echoes of another era...
"Really, each era has its own false nostalgia. We all put a picket fence up around something. For my generation it was the '50s and for other generations it will be something else. Change is scary for everyone, as is complexity, contradiction and an uncertain future." - Gary Ross, film director
This photo is wonderful! I admire photographers who capture a mood with one photo. Brassai could do this. And now, it looks as though you can too, Tara. Gary Ross is spot on with his statement about change. Nothing, and I mean nothing, paralyzes me more than change.

Beautiful, beautiful. You asked me to keep you updated on our travels...I'm off to Peru for Easter, so hopefully more to photograph and write about. Sun, if nothing else...I will very much take that, and try to send a bit your way.

This reminds me of a Hopper painting filled with mood. Oh, Gary Ross was right about change. Few things scare me more.

When the photo appeared I felt like I had stepped into a movie set from the 50's. You definitely caught the feel.

Tara, sorry for everything you're going for. But trust that Spring WILL arrive. Then the air will smell so wonderful and the sun will lift your spirits. It's Spring here, and when we're done moving, I'll take a picture for you! :)
